WICHITA | Thunderstorms and strong tornadoes have been forecast for Kansas and Missouri, and at least one tornado was reported to have touched down Monday afternoon in western Kansas.
The Wichita County Sheriff's Department said no injuries or damage were reported from the tornado that touched down about 1:15 p.m. south of Leoti.
The National Weather Service said a regional tornado outbreak is likely in southeast Kansas later Monday. The weather service expects the storms to move rapidly east-northeast at about 50 mph, bringing severe weather, hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.
The weather service also issued tornado warnings for counties in west-central Kansas on Monday afternoon.

The storms are expected to hit eastern Kansas and western and central Missouri later Monday.
