When two burglars broke into a basement window of a house this morning in the 2500 block of West Sunnybrook, they may not have bargained for this scary threat: a resident wielding a curling iron.
The two suspects threw a large tree limb through a basement window and gained entry, said Sgt. Steve Yarberry, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
When one of the suspects went into a bedroom of the house, he was chased out.
"Both suspects ran out of the house, scared for their safety, through a broken window," Yarberry said. "The victims chased the suspects through the backyard. The suspects were last seen running south and east of the residence."
Never miss a local story.
Police are searching for the suspects, who are in their late teens. During the burglary, the suspects are reported to have taken a black Toshiba laptop.
