LAWRENCE | A Lawrence store known for selling a synthetic form of marijuana is closed after being raided by federal and local officials.
Sacred Journey, a downtown business, was closed today after agents from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Lawrence Police and Johnson County Sheriff's Office raided the business.
The FDA was leading the investigation, the Lawrence Journal-World reports in its online edition.
The synthetic drugs are the subject of legislation approved by the Kansas House and Senate to add the chemicals to the state's list of controlled substances.
The products are sold as incense and being smoked by young people to get high.
