Three separate shootings overnight left one person dead and four others with serious injuries.
About 1:30 a.m. today, police responded to 51st Street and Walrond Avenue on a shooting call. They found one victim in life threatening condition who was transported to the hospital.
Authorities towed a couple of cars from the scene, but they did not release exactly how they are involved in the shooting.
Just a few minutes later, police responded to 39th Street and Jackson Avenue on what turned out to be a triple shooting. One shooting victim died on the scene and the other two drove themselves to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Around 3 a.m., Kansas City police responded to a third shooting scene at 2829 Southwest Blvd., outside Margarita’s downtown restaurant. A woman was transported from this scene with life-threatening injuries; her husband suffered a gun shot wound to his leg.
Police say the couple were innocent victims of a drive-by shooting.
