Police found a partially conscious, beaten man lying in the snow this morning in southeast Wichita, with his truck in a nearby ditch.
Police said they received a call at 2:30 a.m., and they found a green Dodge pickup near the 2900 block of South Bunker Hill.
They found the man in a parking lot a few blocks away. He was bruised and bleeding, with shoe tread marks on his body that suggest he was stomped on, police said.
"There appeared to be a struggle in the snow," Sgt. Brad Agnew said.
A wallet inside the truck helped police confirm the partially conscious man was connected to the abandoned truck, Agnew said.
There were no known witnesses.
The man lost consciousness as he was taken to Wesley Medical Center, Agnew said. His condition was not available.
