WICHITA — Five men have been arrested following an exchange of gunfire involving the occupants of two vehicles in north Wichita on Tuesday, police said.
Residents reported hearing numerous gunshots in the 2200 block of North Park Place at 11:55 a.m. Witnesses said they say a white Mercury Marquis and a black Chevy Tahoe speed from the area.
Both vehicles had numerous bullet holes, police said.
"It was a shoot-out," police spokesman Gordon Bassham said.
Officers stopped the Marquis in the 1700 block of North Market. The Tahoe was found later at an apartment complex in the 400 block of West Central.
Numerous shell casings were found where the shots were reported, Bassham said. One minor injury was reported by one of the vehicle occupants, Bassham said.
Two 20-year-old men and men ages 22, 19 and 18 were arrested. A second 18-year-old man has been questioned but not arrested, Bassham said.
