WICHITA — A short police chase ended after an intoxicated man crashed a stolen car and was arrested after he tried to run from the scene, police said today.
Police suspect that the 44-year-old man was driving with an alcohol level of nearly twice the legal limit in the incident late Thursday night, a police report said.
No one was seriously injured.
The chase began about 11:35 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of East Murdock when police tried to stop a man who was driving a car with a defective headlight, police spokesman Gordon Bassham said. After a short chase, the car crashed and overturned near 10th and Mosley.
The car had just been stolen, Bassham said.
