WICHITA — A 2-year-old girl is in protective custody after being taken by her mother to a local hospital with numerous injuries Wednesday night, police said.
The child has a fractured left elbow, a possible fractured left ankle and numerous bruises on her body, authorities reported. Her 18-year-old mother took her to Wesley Medical Center shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday.
She told police her 22-year-old live-in boyfriend baby-sat the child the night before, and she became concerned something was wrong when the girl could not move her arm and was limping.
The boyfriend was not at their home in the 2500 block of South Victoria, and officers are looking for him to talk to him.
No arrests have been made, but the case remains under investigation.
