Forward Josh Wolff was selected as the Wizards’ Most ValuablePlayer for 2009, and defender Jimmy Conrad received U.S. SoccerFoundation Humanitarian of the Year for his contributions to the KansasCity community.
This was the third team MVP award for Wolff, who was selected in 2004and 2005. He scored a career-best 11 goals this season, ranking sixth inMLS. His 73 career goals are tied for 13th in league history.
Conrad, the Wizards’ captain, is an active member of AthletesAgainst Autism, serving as a host for the local Walk Now for Autismevent and putting on multiple clinics for children with autismthroughout the year. He is also a local spokesman for the ChildProtection Center. Showing his ongoing commitment to the Kansas Citycommunity, Conrad accepted a position Friday as a board member for theKansas City Zoo.
Conrad has won the Team Humanitarian of the Year four times during hiscareer, including 2004 and 2005 in Kansas City.
