TOPEKA _ The Kansas Lottery today received an application from a Wichita- based group seeking to build and manage a state-owned casino in southeastern Kansas.
Ozark Trail Gaming LLC has applied to build a casino in Cherokee County at U.S. Highway 166/400, one mile north of I-44, according to a statement from the Lottery.
The deadline for applications was 2 p.m. today.
The Lottery has 90 days to review the application and negotiate a contract with the applicant. If a contract is worked out, it would be considered by the Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board.
