GARDEN CITY — A Spanish teacher in Garden City is no longer teaching after she was charged with stealing three laptops.
Superintendent Rick Atha says 36-year-old Claudia Pinon is suspended with pay pending the outcome of the court case. She faces three counts of felony theft.
The school district contacted police about the three missing laptops worth about $3,300.
An investigation led them to believe Pinon took the laptops assigned to her classroom without permission.
She had taught at Garden City High School and at an alternative school.
