WICHITA - While most law enforcement officers in the area were responding to the fatal wounding of a Sedgwick County Sheriff's deputy on Monday afternoon, four men robbed the Commerce Bank branch at 13th and Woodlawn, authorities said.
Three men went into the branch bank at 6424 E. 13th St. at 5:14 p.m. and robbed it, then left in a gold or champagne Dodge Stratus, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.
The fourth person was outside the bank, FBI spokesman Chuck Pritchett said, and may well have been acting as a get-away driver.
Surveillance photos may be released later today in an attempt to help identify the suspects, Pritchett said.
