That's what Todd Haley told the two top available quarterbacks, Brodie Croyle and Tyler Thigpen. Haley later said how much Croyle would play could depend on how well he plays against the Rams.
The bigger picture is a starting quarterback for the season opener Sept. 13 in Baltimore assuming Matt Cassel won't be available. That decision could be based on results Thursday in St. Louis.
"It's a small piece but all of the pieces are pretty big right now as we get down to the wire," Haley said. "Every day is an evaluation. We've got to lean on everything we know and in the next couple of days we'll learn some more."
