SALINA, Kan. | Rescuers have pulled a woman to safety after her sport utility vehicle crashed into a creek in west Salina.
Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Scott Walker says the SUV rolled onto its passenger side in the creek Tuesday afternoon after the vehicle went off the side of the road and down an embankment.
The driver was trapped in the partially submerged vehicle.
Salina firefighters used an extension ladder to get the woman to shore. She was transported to the Salina Regional Health Center with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.
Walker says the woman may have blacked out before swerving off the road. Her name was not available.
