ST. LOUIS | Mayor Francis Slay easily won the Democratic primary for mayor Tuesday.
With 100 percent of the city's precincts reporting, unofficial results show the 53-year-old Slay, seeking his third term, got nearly 61.5 percent of the vote.
Former alderwoman Irene Smith garnered about 32 percent of the vote and attorney Denise Watson-Wesley Coleman had 6.5 percent.
No Republicans ran for mayor. But Slay will face Libertarian Robb E. Cunningham, who ran unopposed, and Elston McCowan, who got nearly 70 percent of the vote to defeat Don Devivo in the Green Party primary.
The general election is April 7.
