An eight-member search committee will help find Kansas State’s next athletic director.
K-State President-Elect Kirk Schulz announced the formation of the committee of faculty, students and athletic administrators. The committee will begin work immediately.
Schulz appointed K-State Alumni Association President and CEO Amy Button Renz to chair the committee.
The school is looking for a new athletic boss after Bob Krause resigned the position in late January less than a year after his appointment.
A possible candidate is Illinois State athletic director Sheahon Zenger, a K-State graduate and a former associate athletic director for development at the school.
“I believe that the next director of athletics at K-State will have a wonderful opportunity,” Schulz said in a statement. “I want to see us compete for Big 12 championships in all sports, and to do that we will need strong leadership from our athletics director in raising external funds and communicating with an enthusiastic alumni base regarding K-State Athletics.”
