Enter The Eagle’s holiday pet photo contest

This holiday season, let your pet give you a present. The Wichita Eagle is giving away $300 for the cutest, funniest or stupidest pet photos. Whether your pet is a dog, cat or tree frog, get out the tiny Santa hats and go to Kansas.com/pets for information on how to upload the photos.

They’ll be featured in a photo gallery on Kansas.com. On Dec. 22, the finalists will run in the Arts section and we’ll ask readers to vote on their favorites. The first-place winner will receive a $150 Visa gift card. Second- and third-place winners will each receive a $75 gift card.

Anyone may enter, but only Kansas residents are eligible to win prizes.

To enter, go to Kansas.com/pets. No computer? You may also mail your photos to Jean Hays, The Wichita Eagle, 825 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67202.

All photos must be received by noon on Dec. 17.

Santa Paws posing with pets to aid rescue groups

Santa Paws will be at pet stores in the Wichita area this weekend to pose for photos with pets and raise money for animal rescue groups.

The All Paws Pet Center at 2250 N. Rock Road, Suite 110, will host photo sessions with Santa from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The cost of the photos is $10, with all proceeds going to Pals Animal Rescue.

Santa will also be at Ks Petite Paws Small Dog Grooming at 9360 W. Central from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Packages cost $25 and include three color photos, a holiday bandana and homemade doggie cookies.

Low-cost microchipping will also be available.

Proceeds will benefit American Eskimo Dog Rescue of Wichita. For more information, call 316-617-4164 or 316-617-9363.
