Manners Refresher course offered for dogs

Just in time for holiday visitors, Family Dog Training & Behavioral Center will hold a three-week Manners Refresher course for dogs.

The course, which starts at 6 p.m., will be held Dec. 4, 11 and 18 at the center, at 69th Street North and Hoover Road. The cost is $60 for the three-week session.

Lessons will include polite greetings, settle, “go to your spot,” “trade” and “leave it” – handy behaviors to help everyone enjoy a safe and happy holiday season.

Santa Paws to pose for photos with pets

Santa Paws will be at Ks Petite Paws Small Dog Grooming in December to pose for photos with pets.

Photo sessions will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 7 and noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 14 and 15 at the shop, 9360 W. Central. Packages cost $25 and include three color photos, a holiday bandana and homemade doggie cookies.

Low-cost microchipping will also be available.

Proceeds will benefit American Eskimo Dog Rescue of Wichita.
