Retain wraps up dog wash, seeks garage sale donations

Saturday is the last day for the summer dog wash staffed by volunteers from Retain outside Heartland Animal Hospital, 4100 N. Woodlawn in Bel Aire.

From 1 to 4 p.m., volunteers will shampoo, rinse and towel off dogs for a fee of $4 for a small or medium-size dog and $5 for a large dog.

Proceeds go to help Retain, or Responsible and Ethical Treatment of Animals in Neighborhoods, pay for spay and neuter surgeries for pets whose owners can't afford them.

The group is now preparing for its annual fundraising garage sale, which will be held Sept. 26-28 at 615 S. Roosevelt.

To donate items in good, clean, usable condition (no clothing, please), or to make a tax-deductible donation, call Jerry at 316-682-2249.
