Asian Night Market returns

Asian arts, crafts, dance, cuisine and refreshments will be offered in Botanica’s gardens the evening of Aug. 16 as the Asian Night Market returns for a second year.

The event, from 4 to 8 p.m., will be a fund raiser for the Chinese Garden of Friendship under construction at Botanica. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for Botanica members, available at the door or in advance at www.botanica.org. Children 12 and under get in free, as will anyone who dresses in traditional Asian attire.

Designer Q&A

Q: What is a favorite trick of the trade when adding curb appeal?

A: Every house is different, but adding new appropriate lights at the front door always makes a home more welcoming. More glass is also being added to front doors. Not only does this make a house look more approachable, but it brings light and views inside your home.
