Overeaters Anonymous members from Region IV are invited to attend the annual convention June 18-20 at the Topeka Holiday Inn.
The organization provides support and fellowship for people who struggle against compulsive eating.
On-site registration begins at 5 p.m. June 18. Preregistration is open through May 28 at www.oaregion4.org.
Senior Law Day event scheduled for June 22
Registration has begun for the third annual Senior Law Day: Protect Your Health, Your Wealth and Yourself! event.
The event will be June 22 at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center, at 21st Street and Ridge Road. It is put on by the Extension Office and Central Plains Area Agency on Aging.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by 20 educational programs focusing on physical well-being, financial security and protection from fraud and injury. Attorney General Steve Six will give the lunch presentation.
The cost is $10 per person, $15 for two, $70 for a group of 10, and $7 for students. Registration is due by June 16, by calling the Extension Office at 316-660-0127.
Genesis offers free program for teens
Genesis Health Clubs is offering free access to teens this summer for two months at any location. Those ages 15 to 17 must register while with a parent or guardian.
Their summer membership pass is good for daily access, but they must check in by 12:30 p.m. and end their visit by 4 p.m.
