La Vieille Ferme Cotes du Ventoux Rose, 2013
Recommended by: John Michael, lead instructor, Culinary Arts at Butler Community College
Tastes like: Pink and red notes of watermelon and strawberry with slight hints of spice and potpourri from this blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault.
Pairs well with: Patios and poolsides, picnics and warm summer evenings. Enough weight to hold up to grilling but at the same time delicate enough to not overwhelm lighter summer fare.
Comments: On a teacher’s salary, my eyes are glued to the bottom shelf at the liquor store. If it’s under $10, I’ll get around to trying it sooner or later. This rose continues to over deliver at its price point year-in, year-out.
