Your browser's cache temporarily stores files such as images and programming code so that the browser doesn't have to download them repeatedly. This helps speed up your online experience. However, if one of those cached files becomes corrupted, Web pages can behave erratically. By deleting the cache, you force your Web browser to refresh all those files and, with luck, behave normally again.

To clear your cache, follow the instructions for your browser below. If you notice no change, you may also need to close your browser down and restart it.

  • Click on the "Tools" menu.
  • Click on "Internet Tools..."
  • Be sure you're on the "General" tab in the box that appears.
  • In the middle of the box, you'll see a button labeled "Delete Files..." Click it.
  • Click "OK" to confirm.
  • Click "OK" to exit "Internet Options."
