Elementary schools

D.A.R.E. graduations, 2 p.m. today, Anderson Elementary, 2945 S. Victoria; 3 p.m. Wednesday, Spaght Accelerated Magnet, 2316 E. 10th St.; 10 a.m. May 15, Gammon Elementary, 3240 N. Rushwood; 2:30 p.m. May 15, Hyde Elementary, 210 N. Oliver; 1 p.m. May 16, Emerson Open Magnet, 2330 W. 15th St.; 2 p.m. May 16, Black Traditional Magnet, 1045 High. Students will mark the completion of the drug resistance education program and celebrate their commitment to a drug-free life.

Hyde Elementary Science Fair Extravaganza, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, 210 N. Oliver. Fifth-grade students will show their science projects.

Irving Elementary principal spends day on the roof as a reward for students' reading accomplishments, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, ice cream party, 3:30 p.m., both at 1642 N. Market.

Kindergarten orientation, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at all Wichita elementary schools. Parents and students who will start kindergarten in the fall can visit their new school. Parents can learn about enrollment requirements and school programs.

L'Ouverture Elementary playground equipment celebration, 2:30 p.m. Friday, 1539 Ohio. Gifted students at L'Ouverture raised more than $30,000 for new equipment.

Middle schools

Jardine Technology Magnet open house for next year's fifth-grade students and parents, 6 to 7 p.m. today, and fifth-grade visitation day, all day Friday, both at 3550 Ross Parkway.

Robinson Middle School No Place for Hate assembly, 2:45 p.m. May 15, 328 N. Oliver. Robinson is the first school in Wichita to receive designation as a No Place for Hate school to raise student awareness of diversity. A national representative from the Anti-Defamation League will be present.

High schools

Chisholm Life Skills Center commencement, 7 p.m. Friday, Stucky Middle School auditorium, 4545 Broadview Circle.

Quest academic competition broadcast with The Independent School and Lansing High School, 5 p.m. Monday, KPTS Channel 8.
