A Wichita police officer fired two shots at a dog in Danielle Maples' living room on New Year's Eve while all four of her children sat in close proximity. One of the children received minor injuries when a ricochet bullet fragment struck her. Maples exchanged text message with police chief Gordon Ramsay a day later concerning dealing with the media.
