Never have so many had so much fun at the expense of a baby.

The birth of England’s royal boy king earned more than 2 million mentions on Twitter on Monday. At its peak – within minutes of the birth’s announcement at 8:37 p.m. London time – the topic drew 25,300 tweets per minute.

Popular hashtags included #RoyalBaby, #RoyalBabyBoy and #RoyalBabyWatch.
