Season premiere

"UFO Hunters"

"The Silencers" kicks off a new season with accounts from people who claim they have encountered men in black bent on silencing UFO researchers and witnesses to alien encounters. 7 p.m., History, Channel 49.

Series

"The Office"

The office staff plans a haunted house for children in the community, but it's nothing compared with the splash that Michael makes at an important business meeting when he falls into a fishpond. 8 p.m., NBC and KSNW, Channel 3.

Documentary series

"Keeping Score"

Written in 1937 in Stalinist Russia, Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 marked the composer's comeback after being publicly condemned for a lack of patriotism, but the score remains an enigma to musicologists today. Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony make a case for the argument that this piece saved the composer's life. 9 p.m., PBS and KPTS, Channel 8.

Movie

"The Holiday"

Two women (Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet) from different countries find romance when they switch homes at Christmas. Jude Law and Jack Black also star in the 2006 romance. 8 p.m., TBS, Channel 29.
