The detectives investigate the murder of a doctor known for performing late-term abortions. An anti-abortion activist is the prime suspect. 7 p.m., NBC and KSNW, Channel 3.

Movie

"Alien"

In this 1979 sci-fi classic, Sigourney Weaver plays Ellen Ripley, an officer aboard an interplanetary mineral-hauling spaceship that answers an apparent call for help and ends up with a slimy, murderous stowaway. 7 p.m., AMC, Channel 55.
