You can find anything on Craigslist, including a restaurant.
The free classified site interestingly lists several local restaurants for sale. Some are empty. Some are still operating.
For example, if you want to get into the burger business, it appears Charlie’s Famous Burgers at 3200 W. 13th St. is for sale. A notice posted in June says the current owner has too many other projects and wants to unload the restaurant, which is still operating and recently introduced a new menu. Price: $40,000. (I called the contact number listed, but the person who answered hung up on me.)
Want an already vacant place? The Garcia’s Tacos building at 2138 N. Market also is listed on Craigslist. It closed in May of last year when it’s longtime owner decided to retire. It’s available for $150,000 if you want to keep all the equipment, including a meat saw and a commercial dishwasher. Rental option also are available.
There’s even a listing for Burnout Bar and Grill, 1021 W. Maple St, which is listed for $50,000. The poster refers to the still-operating business as turnkey, and the businesses’ Facebook page will be included with the sale. Serious inquiries only, please.
If you can’t afford the price tag for your own restaurant, though, Craigslist may still have a deal for you.
A seller in north Wichita has a bear costume he says he used for marketing when he owned a restaurant.
All he wants in return: An Apple watch.
