2013 J. Lohr Los Osos Merlot
Recommended by: Guy Bower, host of “The Good Life” on KNSS
Tastes like: “This wine is rich with ripe, black fruit and a heap of tropical aromatics from oak. The aromas are big and mirror the flavor after the first sip with dark fruit, blackberry, blueberry, toasted coconut, cigar box, vanilla and green tobacco leaf.”
Never miss a local story.
Pairs well with: “Savory stews with winter vegetables, grilled lamb chops or even a homemade burger on butter-toasted bun. Add a little crisp bacon and a slice of aged white cheddar, and the flavor party is on.”
Comments: “This is a lot of wine for the money and can be had for under $10-$12 when on sale. The 2012 was really good, but the 2013 might be the better of the two and recently received a 90/100 point score from the Wine Enthusiast.”
