Another local charity is planning a fundraiser centered around food, and that’s the best kind of fundraiser.
Inter-Faith Ministries, a local charity that assists the homeless, is in the final stages of organizing an event called Dine Out, Help Out. It’s scheduled for Sept. 15, and it asks participating restaurants to donate a portion of their proceeds from that day.
The organizers are hoping to sign up 75 restaurants and 75 “ambassadors,” whose job it will be to help recruit restaurants and to fill their assigned restaurants with people on Sept. 15, inviting friends, family and using their social media channels.
Those who want to serve as ambassadors or restaurants that want to participate should contact Kyle Gibson at 316-264-9303 or e-mail him at Vista@interfaithwichita.org.
Never miss a local story.
As the event gets closer, organizers will list the participating restaurants at dineouthelpout.org.
Money raised will benefit Inter-Faith’s shelters, where people can get beds, meals and help finding a job or arranging educational opportunities.
