A new fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant is opening today, and I had a chance to check it out Tuesday night at a preview.
Harb enlisted the help of well-known local chef Jeremy Wade to put together the menu, which includes fresh-made hummus, falafel, salad, shawarma and more. The beef and chicken are shaved directly off a spit, like it’s done in the Middle East. Harb says that this cooking method improves the flavor of the meat and makes it healthier.

I was able to sample some of the food last night, and it was good. I especially liked the beef shawarma wrap and the rich lentil soup. You can check out the full menu here.
Starting today, Meddys will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
The restaurant offers order-at-the-counter service, and the food is served in earth-friendly paper plates and bowls with plastic utensils.
