If you’ve seen the weather forecast for today, you know it calls for rain, rain and more rain.
So the organizers of the monthly Night at the Fountains food truck rally, scheduled for 5 p.m. tonight at the Wichita WaterWalk, have decided to call it off. Rain soaked last month’s event, too, and turnout was abysmal. Organizer Lisa Palacios, who owns Funky Monkey Munchies, decided to take a “better safe than sorry” approach to tonight’s rally.
But the first East ICT Food Truck Rally, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the old Northrock 14 Theater, near 29th and Rock, is still on, and the forecast for Sunday is sunny and 70s.
The food trucks committed to the rally, which organizers hope will become a monthly event, are Sunflower Espresso, Brickhouse BBQ, Kamayan Truck, Hot 2 Trot gourmet Hot Dogs, Charlies Pizza Taco, The Big Chill, B.S. Sandwich Press, Brown Box Bakery and organizers The Big Apple and Funky Monkey Munchies.
Tables and chairs will be provided, as will restrooms.
