Michael Garozzo in the kitchen of his former Wichita restaurant, Garoozo's.A strange but kind of cool thing happened to me this morning.
I was innocently blogging about the closing of The Palette when my metro editor, Jean Hays, came to my desk very excited.
The people who put together the state assessment tests for Kansas schools called her wanting permission to use excerpts from one of my stories on the new test they’re putting together.
Turns out they want my review of Garozzo’s, the very pretty Italian restaurant that operated at 2121 N. Webb in the early 2000s. My review appeared in the paper in July of 2003. The restaurant closed in 2007. (Garozzo’s still has four restaurants in the Kansas City area.)
Never miss a local story.
“You’re at the high school reading level!” Jean told me.
Read the review below and see if you’re smart enough to assess it — or just to reminisce about a good restaurant from Wichita’s past.
