Mother’s Day: Where to eat

Mother’s Day is May 11, which is a little more than a week away.
You could wait to decide where to take Mom to eat, but doesn’t she deserve better than that?
Here is a guide to local brunches and meal specials for people who love their moms enough to plan ahead.
Corporate Caterers, 2949 N. Rock Road, 316-264-9167: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Buffet is $21.95 for adults, $16.95 for seniors, $8.95 for ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and younger. Reservations required.
Granite City Food & Brewery, 2244 N. Webb Road, 316-636-5050; and 2661 N. Maize Road, 316-721-8500: 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Buffet is $20.95 for adults, $6.95 for ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and younger. Limited reservations and call-head seating available.
Green Mill, 549 S. Rock Road, 316-687-6455: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Buffet is $18.99 for adults, $16.99 for seniors, $7.99 for ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and younger. Reservations recommended.
Hereford House, 1400 Terradyne, Andover, 316-733-7800: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Buffet is $22.95 for adults, $9.95 for ages 5-11, free for ages 4 and younger. Reservations recommended.
Hyatt Regency, 400 W. Waterman, 316-613-6300: Brunch buffet will be served in the Riverview Ballroom with seatings every half-hour from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Price is $24.95 for adults; ages 12 and younger pay the same amount as their age. Reservations recommended.
Larkspur, 904 E. Douglas, 316-262-5275: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Buffet is $28.95 for adults, $10.95 for ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and younger. Reservations recommended.
Legends, inside the DoubleTree by Hilton, 2098 Airport Road, 316-945-1966: Seatings every half-hour from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Buffet is $25.95 for adults, $20.95 for ages 60 and older, $9.95 for ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and younger. Includes two complimentary glasses of champagne or mimosas per guest, iced tea, coffee or soda. Reservations required.
Mediterranean Grill, 335 S. Towne East Mall Drive, 316-651-5599: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Buffet is $15.95 for adults, half-price for ages 4-7, free for ages 3 and younger. Reservations recommended.
Newport Grill, 1900 N. Rock Road, 316-636-9555: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Buffet is $25 for adults, $13 for ages 5-12; free for ages 4 and younger. Reservations recommended.
Piccadilly Grill, 7728 E. Central, 316-685-2337: 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Buffet is $21.99 for adults, $19.99 for ages 55 and older, $8.99 for ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and younger. No reservations.
Scotch & Sirloin, 5325 E. Kellogg, 316-685-8701: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Buffet is $22.95 for adults, $9.95 for ages 5-11, free for ages 4 and younger. Reservations recommended.
Twelve, 12111 W. Maple, 316-440-2812: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Buffet is $25 for adults, $11 for ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and younger. Reservations recommended.
YaYa’s Euro Bistro, 8115 E. 21st St., 316-634-1000: Four seatings at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Buffet is $25.95 for adults, $11 for ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and younger. Reservations recommended.
Siena Tuscan Steakhouse, 104 S. Broadway, 316-440-5300: Buffet will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s $25 for adults, $10 for ages 5-12 and free for ages 4 and younger. Reservations recommended.
Tanya’s Soup Kitchen, 1725 E. Douglas, 316-267-7687: The restaurant’s first holiday brunch buffet will offer seatings at 10 a.m., 11 a.m, noon and 1 p.m. One free mimosa per person will be included. The price is $18 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under. Reservations required.
Taste & See, 255 N. Washington, 316-260-4233: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Buffet is $22 for adults, $12 for ages 12 and younger. The restaurant also will have a dinner buffet from 4 to 9 p.m. featuring 15 items plus desserts. It’s $33 a person. Reservations are recommended for both buffets.
Wichita Marriott, 9100 Corporate Hills Drive, 316-651-0333: Buffet served in Corporate Hills Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s $25.95 for adults, $20.95 for ages 62 and older, $10.95 for ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and younger. Reservations required.
Zaytun, 2020 N. Woodlawn, 316-613-2474: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Traditional Indian brunch is $16.95 for adults, $14.95 for seniors, $9.95 for ages 5-9, free for ages 4 and younger. Mothers will receive flowers. Reservations recommended.
Abuelo’s, 1413 N. Waterfront Parkway, 316-634-2230: Mothers who dine there on Mother’s Day will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last.
Adrian’s, 2121 N. Rock Road, 316-681-1148: The restaurant will offer several specials for Mother’s Day Friday-Sunday. Reservations accepted.
Bella Vita Bistro, 120 N. West St., 316-941-4500: The restaurant will have special Sunday hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will serve from a Mother’s Day menu that includes breakfast/brunch specials such as crab cakes eggs Benedict served until 3 p.m. There will also be sandwich and dinner specials. Diners can get $1 mimosas and bloody Marys from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and children eat free from the children’s menu all day.
Birds on the Roof, 550 N. Rock Road, 316 -558-8288: The restaurant is offering a five course brunch with several choices per course. It’s $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Reservations are recommended.
Chapada, 2142 N. Tyler Road, 316-201-4694: Moms will be treated to a free churrascaria meal on Sunday if a reservation is made online at www.chapadachophouse.com and the key phrase “I Love Mom” is typed into the special requests box. Limit of two free meals per table.
The Muse, inside the Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd., 316-268-4921: The restaurant will offer an a la carte brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Reservations accepted.
Pasta Piazza, 217 E. Douglas, 316-440-3359: The downtown restaurant, which is usually closed on Sundays, is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mother’s Day and will offer all moms a free dessert with a meal purchase. Reservations are recommended.
Jimmie’s Diner, 3111 N. Rock Road, 2600 E. Harry St.: All moms will recieve a free junior shake with their meals on Sunday.
Reverie Coffee Roasters, 2611 E. Douglas: Offering a free 12 oz. specialty coffee beverage to moms from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
