3 Cocktails and Cookies: This annual fundraiser scheduled for Feb. 22 at the Wichita Scottish Rite, 332 E. First St., benefits Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. It includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, sweet cocktails and desserts prepared by local chefs using Girl Scout Cookies as a main ingredient. Tickets are $100 a person at cocktailsandcookies.org.
4. A Night on the Red Carpet: The fourth annual Oscar-night party, a fundraiser for Episcopal Social Services, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Abode Venue, 1330 E. Douglas. It features food, a live and silent auction and more. Tickets are $80 or $100 for VIP entry and are available at 316-269-4160. This year, organizers are also putting on a pre-party where movie fans can watch a rebroadcast of the Oscar nomination ceremony. It’s from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at Oeno, 330 N. Mead. Admission is $10 at the door, and the event will include appetizers and a cash bar.
Pizza Hut crosses the street
Pizza Hut at 2417 S. Seneca closed about two weeks ago after its lease expired and its owners decided not to re-up. But that Pizza Hut is going to reopen on Monday right across the street in the space at 2452 S. Seneca recently vacated by Blockbuster Video. The Pizza Hut is one of the smaller stores that mainly focuses on carryout and delivery but also has a few tables for dine-in customers. Those who call the South Seneca store (316-265-6565) before Monday will be automatically redirected to the Delano store at 700 W. Douglas.
Fat Tony’s now delivers
Good news for those who work downtown and love nuclear hot wings: Fat Tony’s now delivers. The sports bar at 417 E. Douglas recently started a delivery service within a three-block radius. Delivery is available daily, and orders must meet a $10 minimum. For orders and more information, call 316-303-9316.
