1. Five Guys Burgers & Fries: The east-side location of the popular burger chain is nearly done and should open on Monday at 2929 N. Rock Road.
2. Flying Donuts: Tricia Davis plans to open her new doughnut shop on Nov. 22 in the same east Central strip center that holds Bella Luna, at 4618 E. Central.
3. Fizz Burgers and Bottles: The sign is up, and owners plan to open the high-end burger place at 7718 E. 27th St. North in early December.

Two new restaurants, one good cause
Panda Express, a new fast Chinese chain at 11787 E. Kellogg, will officially open on Thursday and will also team with the Wichita Children's Home, offering diners a two-entree plate when they make a donation in any amount to the charity. The first 100 guests also will receive a free Panda Express gift. Meanwhile, Hibachi Grill Sushi Buffet at 511 S. West will open on Sunday and will donate 100 percent of its proceeds from Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to the Wichita Children's Home.
The local banquet hall called aVenue at 13303 W. Maple will put on a wine-tasting featured four high-end reds and two high-end champagnes at 7 p.m. Thursday. Tickets to the event, which also will include food pairings, are $35 a person. Reserve tickets by Tuesday by calling 316-440-1111.
Big new Braum's
The new Delano Braum's at 201 N. Seneca opened on Monday. It replaces the former Braum's around the corner at 1220 W. Douglas and features an expanded market area, more seating and a modern design.
