NEW THIS WEEK

• "Iron Man" opens wide today and fans of the Marvel comic are ready. Robert Downey Jr. stars as wealthy inventor Tony Stark, who builds an armored suit and uses it to fight the people who misuse his technology.

• Patrick Dempsey ("Grey's Anatomy") and his obscenely perfect hair star in the romantic comedy "Made of Honor" as the best friend of a woman (Michelle Monaghan) he secretly loves. When she announces she's getting married, she asks him to be her "maid of honor." Get the title now? Made of Honor. Not Maid of Honor. Wow, that's pretty ingenious. I'm sold! I'll be there just as soon as I have my fingernails yanked out.

• The Cult Film Series continues at the Palace West with "Labyrinth," the 1986 Jim Henson-directed fantasy about a girl named Sarah (a young Jennifer Connelly), who accidentally wishes her baby half-brother away to a mystical land ruled by a Goblin king (David Bowie), who vows to keep the boy unless Sarah completes his labyrinth in 13 hours.

• And the Tallgrass Film Festival will host a reception Sunday at 6 p.m. before a 7 p.m. simulcast of the documentary "Greensburg" at Oscar's Sports Bar, 353 N. Mead in the Warren Old Town Theatre, to benefit the Kansas town that was leveled by a tornado in 2007. A question-and-answer session with filmmaker Brian Schodorf follows.
