Those ruby slippers. That yellow brick road. It’s been almost 75 years since Dorothy said, “Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore” or clicked her heels and chanted, “There’s no place like home” in the “The Wizard of Oz.” The iconic “Oz” has imprinted in our brains countless images and quotable lines.
In honor of the milestone anniversary in August, we want you to share with us your memories of the film. Do you remember the first time you watched the movie or showed it to your children? Has someone quoted the Kansas line to you when you’ve been traveling outside the state? Which character do you identify with and why?
Share your stories in 200 words or less for a possible feature. Send your response to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “OZ” by noon Aug. 13. Include your name, city and daytime phone number.
