Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.

Finding steady employment hasn’t been easy for this 56-year-old woman. She was a customer service representative for five years, but was laid off in February.

“It’s devastating,” she said. “At my age, it’s hard to find work. I’ve been to every agency in town, and nobody has a job for me.”

“They have advertisements out there that they’re hiring but you do an interview where you’re one of 30 people,” she said.

Since being laid off, this grandmother of two has taken two low-paying part-time jobs, but the income has hardly been enough to make monthly bills.

Share the Season has helped with the mortgage and a few utility bills.

“The lady at Share the Season was a blessing in disguise. I have hope for the new year,” she says.

So far, Share the Season has raised $ 182,119.64.
