Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
The single mother of two has fallen behind on bills.
A friend told her about Share the Season. She went to the Salvation Army website not long ago and filled out the application.
“Not every family is fortunate to be able to stay ahead financially,” she wrote. “I have accrued unexpected doctor bills in the last year.”
Her 15-year-old son needed braces, and her 2-year-old son is growing fast.
“They live in two different worlds,” she told The Eagle. “I wasn’t expecting the braces and we’ve just fallen behind.”
Already, Share the Season has helped get her caught up on the orthodontic work.
“But things always come up. It’s easy to fall behind,” she said. “It is a blessing to have a program help you get back on track, especially this time of the year.”
Share the Season has raised $46,076 so far.
