Family struggles with mortgage, other bills

Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.

Her husband, who was laid off in mid-2009, got a job this past April.

Paying off their mortgage is their top priority.

“A month passed before he was able to start work, causing us to run a month behind on mortgage since this happened,” she said.

Their electricity bill has been difficult to pay off as well.

“We also have experienced very high energy costs that we have put on the payment plan,” she said.

The family has two young children.

“Money is tight and trying to put together good meals for the family has been a struggle,” she said.
