Ex-attorney seeks aid after hard year

Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
She used to be a Wichita attorney until her health failed and she went on disability.
Her roommate was laid off in January and hasn't been able to locate full-time employment since.
She has survived the deaths of her granddaughter, grandfather and an aunt — and has had surgery to remove pre-cancerous cells from her vocal cords.
She has used up all her savings and doesn't know where to turn to for help.
"I am hoping we don't get evicted," she said. "The utilities are due, the car payment is due, we don't have any food. You can't think about tomorrow when you are so busy thinking about what you will do today. I can't plan for next week or next month. I can't see that far. I am just trying to get milk in the refrigerator today."
