The Cherokee Maidens are taking over this Memorial Day weekend.
The band – made up of Robin Macy, Lauren White and Monica Taylor – are releasing a new album Friday night.
“My Dixie Darling” is the band’s latest recording, featuring the Sycamore Swing – and the group has a series of shows lined over the holiday weekend.
The CD features songs primarily from the 1920s to ‘40s, with a few original tunes thrown in, as well as some one-offs from other decades.
The party starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, with a CD release show at Roxy’s Downtown, 412 E. Douglas. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $15.
Here’s the remainder of the group’s Memorial Day schedule:
▪ 8 p.m. Saturday, The Blue Door, 2805 N. McKinley, Oklahoma City
▪ 4 p.m. Monday, Bartlett Arboretum, 201 N. Line Street, Belle Plaine. Admission $10
