MENU ADDITIONS IN OLD TOWN SQUARE

Two of Melad Stephan's restaurants -- Uptown Bistro and Sabor in Old Town Square (plus the Sabor out east at 1720 N. Webb Road) --have updated their menus for summer. Among the tempting new dishes:

1. At Uptown Bistro (303 N. Mead): Uptown's long list of new dishes (served just at dinner) includes prosciutto-wrapped jumbo shrimp on the appetizer list, slow-roasted leg of lamb on the entree list and penne pesto chicken on the pasta list.

2. At Sabor, the new menu is in place at 309 N. Mead in Old Town and will start Monday out east. New dishes include a ceviche sampler on the dinner appetizer menu, a chorizo burger on the lunch menu, a honey-glazed shrimp salad at lunch and dinner, and lobster tacos at dinner.

3. New wine lists: After five years of sameness, the wine list at Uptown Bistro has been completely revamped, as has the list at Stephan's wine bar across the street, Oeno (330 N. Mead).

A GOOD DEAL

The Firkin & Bull at 2441 N. Maize Road offers 50-cent chicken wings all day on Thursdays for dine-in customers. And Abuelo's at 1413 Waterfront Parkway is offering two sopapillas with honey for 99 cents for a limited time.

Chelsea's Bar & Grill at 2949 N. Rock Road offers daily specials to entice customers. Among them: French food and wine night on Tuesdays; Lebanese night with 15 percent off most wines by the glass and $5 martinis from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays; and seafood tapas night with $5 martinis from 5 to 7 p.m. on Fridays. Kwan Court's remodeling

Kwan Court, the popular Chinese and sushi restaurant at 1443 N. Rock Road, will close on Monday for a remodeling project that will include the installation of new carpet, an aquarium and an update to the sushi bar. The restaurant will reopen on June 15.
