The Wichita Art Museum is reaching out to young museum-goers – and potential ones – by hosting a color-themed dance party for middle-school students.
Indigo, 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd., will be a younger version of the popular hue-themed fundraiser sponsored annually by WAM Contemporaries.
“We got to thinking: Middle-school students, who are the museum-goers of tomorrow – what kinds of things are out there for them?” said Teresa Veazey, public relations manager for the museum. “Maybe we can get them into the museum and excited about art with something fun, and this is one way for us to do that.”
The party will feature a DJ, dancing, food, prizes and more for students in sixth through eighth grades. Admission is $15. For reservations, call 316-268-4912 or go online to indigorsvp.com.
