Thompson Square to headline free KFDI concert
Husband-and-wife country duo Thompson Square, who last performed in Wichita in September as an opening act for Luke Bryan, will headline KFDI’s annual Listener Appreciation Party at 7 p.m. Friday at Charles Koch Arena on the Wichita State University campus. Also on the bill: The Swon Brothers, who finished third on the fourth season of NBC’s “The Voice,” and country newcomer Lindsay Ell. Tickets to the show are free while they last at various locations around town, including Champion Windows at 1835 S. West St. and Kay Wiggins Jewelry at 600 S. Tyler Road. Doors will open around 5 p.m., and people who got early bird tickets in March will be admitted first, followed by general admission ticket holders. Celtic Woman at Century II
The Celtic Woman Emerald Tour will make a stop this weekend at Century II’s Concert Hall. The show, which features an all-female musical ensemble, starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday and will put Ireland’s Celtic heritage on display with performances of traditional and pop standards from the region as well as original music. It’s time for the Watch and Clock Show
Make time for the 44th annual Watch and Clock Show and Sale, an event scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Sedgwick County Extension Center, 7001 W. 21st St. The event will feature 100 tables filled with items brought by vendors from seven states, including antique clocks and watches dating from 1950.
