Weekend events: Sport, Boat and Travel Show; Sid the Science Kid Live

The annual Kansas Sport, Boat and Travel Show, featuring campers, RVs, boats, giant fish tanks, educational seminars – and a water-skiing squirrel named Twiggy – continues this weekend at the Kansas Pavilions, 1229 E. 85th St. N. in Park City. The show runs from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults and free for ages 12 and under. Sid the Science Kid Live

Fans of Sid the Science Kid and his animated crew can see the characters this weekend at the Orpheum, 200 N. Broadway, in Sid the Science Kid Live. The show, based on the PBS KIDS animated television series, includes music and characters from the series and has many interactive components. The show is at 7 p.m. Friday; doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $19.50, $29.50 and $34.50 and are available at www.selectaseat.com, 316-755-SEAT, at Select-A-Seat outlets and at the Intrust Bank Arena Box Office. Discovery Day at the Museum of World Treasures

The last Saturday of every month is “Discovery Day” at the Museum of World Treasures, 835 E. First St. Children in first through fifth grades can visit the museum any time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and participate in treasure hunts, make take-home crafts and win prizes. Admission to Discovery Day is free with regular museum admission: $8.95 for adults, $7.95 for seniors ages 60 and older and $6.95 for children ages 4 to 12. For more information, call 316-263-1311.
