Bluegrass and Snapshots at Bartlett Arboretum

Bluegrass and Snapshots is an event scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine that will feature a performance by Driven, a quintet that will perform at this year’s Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield. The concert is part of the Arboretum’s Tree House concert series. Barbecue by the Lyons Den and Italian food by Luciano’s also will be sold at the event, which will include a photography exhibit by Randy Bradbury, an avid arboretum photographer. Gates open at 3 p.m., and tickets are $10 at the gate. The concert begins at 4 p.m. For more information, visit

Benefit is A Sweet A’Fair

A Sweet A’Fair a benefit by local physician Donna Sweet to help Wichita area HIV/AIDS patients, is scheduled for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at 6 Crestview Lakes. Participants can park at 21st and Oliver and ride a free trolley to the event, which will feature food, kids’ activities, a photo booth, music, auction items, face painting a massage station and more. This year’s event will have a Wizard of Oz theme and will feature a guest appearance by the Heart of America Men’s Chorus and singer Karla Burns performing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Admission is $25. Honey Bee Festival at nature center

Great Plains Nature Center will be the home on Saturday to a Honey Bee Festival, which will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature lessons on honey bees, crafts and games for children, honey tastings and more. Visitors also can get up close to an outdoor hive at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., they can watch a screening of the film “Vanishing of the Bees” in Coleman Auditorium.
