If you've been considering starting a home improvement project, you'll want to spend some time at the 2011 Home Show this weekend to research your options. Here's what you'll find there:
1) Businesses and vendors will have displays on every facet of home remodeling and renovation, including heating and air conditioning, replacement windows, spas and pools, roofs, security systems, sprinkler systems, garages, basement remodeling, fencing, skylights and countertops.
2) Free, licensed child care will be provided for kids up to age 10 (young ones must be toilet-trained). Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Look for the child care center in Exhibition Hall in Century II.
3) Free seminars will take place all three days of the show. Topics will include modifying your house for accessible living; getting ready for the building process; energy efficiency; remodeling basics; and how to find a professional remodeler.
Never miss a local story.
